A French women's rights group is taking on the alleged "woman tax" in supermarkets, sparking an investigation from the country's finance ministry. The organisation Georgette Sands has accused French stores of marking up products marketed to women over comparable products sold in men's aisles.

On the Woman Tax tumblr, the group noted pricing discrepancies at the store Monoprix, whose name translates to "same price". One photo, for example, found a package of five women's razors to be more expensive than ten of the men's equivalent.
