Venezuelan student protest turns violent
Alleged armed pro-government groups clashed with university students near campus.
Classes at the Andrés Bello Catholic University (UCAB) were suspended Tuesday and Wednesday due to a demonstration that turned violent, leaving two injured. Students were calling for the release of detained classmates when, according to a UCAB professor, alleged pro-government armed groups attacked students. Riding on motorcycles, the groups launched fireworks and used firearms outside of the campus.
Using hashtags #SOSColectivosDelTerrorAtacanUCAB (SOS terror group attacks UCAB), Venezuelans shared scenes of the protests and discussed the violent event.
