Protest campers call to reoccupy Spanish squares

Anti-austerity demonstrators will return to central square in Madrid after being dispersed twice by police.

Madrid’s police dispersed anti-austerity protesters camping in the city centre for the second time within a week. In an attempt to turn Saturday’s austerity demonstrations into a permanent occupation, 300 to 400 protesters had gathered and camped for two nights at the central square Plaza del Sol. One man was arrested for resisting the authorities. The video below from El Diario shows police clearing the square.
