Lawmakers in France approve a controversial amendment, making it easier for women to get an abortion.

The abortion debate in France is heating up as French lawmakers have approved a controversial amendment to the abortion bill, making it easier for woman to terminate a pregnancy. The amendment, approved on Tuesday, removes the requirement for a women to prove she is in “distress” before being allowed to have an abortion.
