Could extreme weather events lead to more action on climate?

From wildfires to floods, many rich countries are now seeing the devastating effects of climate change.

As global temperatures have soared in recent decades, there has been a significant increase in the number of weather-related disasters.

The United Nations is warning these extreme conditions are likely to continue if we do not take action.

At the moment, the northeastern United States is seeing the destruction left behind by Hurricane Ida, which caused extensive damage from Louisiana to New York City.

Will rich countries step up the effort to fight global warming?
