will fall by half by 2030 [AP]

Oil production will fall by half as soon as 2030, a report by the German-based Energy Watch Group suggests.

The International Energy Agency, on the other hand, says there is little reason to worry about oil supplies at the moment.

So, will oil production decline? And if it does, what will the consequences be?

Can that be an impetus for more research into alternative resources of energy?
