Lebanon economy: Gov’t works towards emergency financial plan

Lebanon’s protests may have dwindled but the government is being warned that this may change as people suffer in a flatlining economy.

Months of often violent mass protests, demanding an overhaul of Lebanon’s system of governance, have largely died down in recent weeks.

The country’s new government is putting together an emergency economic plan, but it faces the challenge of gaining international support.

And pressure on the streets could increase again if things do not improve soon.
