Former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has claimed the nomination for the Democratic party. 

She is in line to become the first woman to lead a major party’s bid for the presidency.

But it has been a difficult journey so far. Clinton has often struggled to connect with voters.

Her rival, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, has refused to bow out, telling supporters he will fight on until the Democratic convention in July.

And a potentially unpleasant and personal battle looms with Donald Trump.

Clinton says she has made history by even getting this far. But what are her chances of winning the presidential election?
