Raul is among a small group of Colombian pilots who fly one of the most perilous air routes in the world high above the Amazon rainforest bordering Brazil.
He flies an old DC3 propeller plane through violent tropical storms transporting goods and people from Villavicencio, a city in the foothills of the Andean Cordillera, to native Indian villages.
His cargo includes vegetables, beds, dogs, chicken and TV sets. And people. He does not know the exact age of his DC3, which is one of the few planes capable of dealing with flying above the Amazon.
