Rapid population growth endangers Ugandan economy

Two million babies are born in Uganda every year, giving the African nation one of the fastest growing populations in the world.

From 38 million now, the population is expected to reach 130 million by 2050.

But there are warnings of dire consequences unless changes are made. If the population growth continues at this rate, forests will be wiped out, the healthcare system will not cope and there could be major food shortages.
