Canada’s only deepwater Arctic port faces ‘uncertain future’

Access by land to Canada’s only Arctic port, which was built in Churchill, Manitoba, has been impossible since last May when a railroad line to the small town was damaged beyond repair in floods. Scientists have blamed climate change in the northern region.

Food prices in the town of 1,000 are soaring, tourism is suffering and there is a train trapped in the station that can probably never leave. No one is helping and the little strategic town is in rapid decline.
