Parents want their children far away from Nicaragua until the political crisis is resolved.
Many Nicaraguans have been applying for passports, hoping to escape the continuing political crisis.
Anti-government demonstrators and government forces have been in confrontations for weeks as peaceful demonstrations are met with violence.
Now, church officials are putting themselves in the line of fire to prevent further bloodshed.
The Catholic Church has also been moderating peace talks between the two sides.
