Afghanistan: Fears political divide may thwart peace deal

Despite recent reduction in violence, political divisions in Kabul may pose a challenge to ending the war against the Taliban.

A week-long “reduction in violence” between the Taliban, US and Afghan forces has brought hope of a lasting peace deal.

But there is concern it could be derailed by political division following a controversial election.
