2020 US Election: Trump needs support of rural Midwest

Trump captured 2016 victory with backing of rural and suburban, mostly white, voters in states such as Wisconsin, Ohio, Michigan and Pennsylvania.

    Trump repeatedly mentioned the 2020 election in racist tweets against four US congresswomen of colour.

    Some have seen the tweets as an attempt to rally his base - he maintains strong support in the US's rural Midwest.
