Italy: Political turmoil leads to further concerns of EU exit
Many see the potential fresh vote as an unofficial referendum on EU membership, after Italy fails to form a coalition government.
Italy is still without a government after President Sergio Mattarella rejected the proposed finance minister by the coalition of the 5 Star Movement and far-right party, the League.
As the country faces political and financial unrest with investors leaving, how will it cope with another possible return to the polls in July, which could be an unofficial referendum on Italy’s membership of the eurozone?
