Regional turmoil dominates Arab League summit

Egypt and Syria dominate speeches at the opening session of the Arab League Summit in Kuwait.

The crisis in Egypt and the conflict in Syria have dominated the opening session of an Arab Leage summit in Kuwait.

So far, Syria’s seat has remained empty, but foreign ministers have discussed whether to let the opposition Syrian National Coalition take the seat.

A sub-committee is due to make a decision on that before the summit’s final session on Wednesday morning.
