Monks offer Muslims home in Myanmar monastery
Buddhists try to build bridge over religious divide as they welcome those fleeing violence.

More than a 1,000 Muslims who fled Myanmar’s latest bout of sectarian violence have sought shelter in a Buddhist monastery guarded by army soldiers in Lashio.
The violence in the city highlighted how anti-Muslim unrest has slowly spread across Myanmar since starting last year in western Rakhine state and hitting the central city of Meikhtila in March.
Those offering a home distanced themselves from the Buddhists who carry out such vioelnce, and who they believe are inflaming a religious divide.
