S Korea leader asks North to quit nuke plan

North Korea threatens to accelerate nuclear programme in response to more UN sanctions.

The president of South Korea says the North’s only path to survival lies in abandoning its nuclear programme.

Park Geun-Hye was speaking on the third anniversary of the Cheonan warship’s sinking which killed 46 sailors.

A South Korean-led investigation blamed it on a North Korean torpedo strike.
