Mexico brings ancient sport to World Indigenous Games

Uarhukua, a hard-hitting ball game that looks like an ancestor of street hockey, is growing in popularity.

The world’s first Indigenous Games kick off in Brazil this week.

Mexico is sending 70 athletes to participate in the tournament in sports including kayaking, archery and an ancient, hard-hitting ball game which is rapidly growing in popularity.
