Afghans and Sri Lankas waiting in Indonesia have told Al Jazeera they plan to seek asylum in Australia despite a new ban on refugee applications from the two countries.
The Australian government says the policy will reduce the number of boats bringing illegal immigrants to its shores.
But many desperate refugees say they have not been deterred from the precarious journey.
