Mexico registers record number of homicides

Many accuse the president of failing to fulfil promises to end violence plaguing the country.

December 1 marks a year since Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador took office.

His approval ratings remain high, but critics say he has done little to solve major problems.

Mexico registered a record number of homicides in the first six months of this year.

And the violence shows no sign of slowing down.
