Pakistan’s Shandur polo festival kicks off on ‘roof of the world’

Annual match is played at an altitude of 3700 metres on the highest polo ground on the planet.

Pakistan has just hosted one of the world’s most spectacular sporting events.

An annual polo match known as the Shandur festival is held from July 7 to 9 on the Shandur Pass in the Chitral District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

This free-style game is played between teams from the districts of Chitral and Gilgit-Baltistan.
