Ebola in DRC: Aid workers racing to spread awareness

Thousands of people live and work on the Congo river, which runs through several countries and raises the risk of the Ebola infection spreading. Aid workers are trying to educate people about simple steps they can take to protect themselves.

There are now 45 Ebola confirmed or suspected Ebola cases recorded in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).

At least 23 victims have died.

The World Health Organization is flying an experimental Ebola vaccine to the DRC.

However, many local people still don’t know much about the epidemic – or the risks.
