UK to ban sale of new petrol and diesel cars by 2040

The British government has said it will ban the sale of new petrol, diesel and hybrid cars by 2040 as part of an effort to curb pollution.

But some campaigners say the plans do not go far enough as the country lacks the infrastructure crucial to maintaining electric cars.
