What does ‘brand Islam’ stand for and could more be done to counter negative perceptions linking the religion to violence?

In a special edition, Tuesday’s Riz Khan show is broadcast from Singapore where the Global Brand Forum is taking place.

Last year, then US defence secretary, Donald Rumsfeld said the US is losing the media war to al-Qaeda.

Could Muslim communities play a stronger role in shaping perceptions about Islam and if so how should they go about it?
