Israeli knesset member Haneen Zoabi is calling for an international investigation into the raid and maintains that Israel’s use of force was excessive and intended to discourage future aid efforts.
Because of her stance, fellow knesset members are calling her a “traitor” and “terrorist”.

Some are even working to remove Zoabi’s parliamentary privileges, to bring her before a criminal court and to revoke her citizenship.
Born in the Palestinian town of Nazareth inside Israel, Zoabi could soon find herself stateless.
Israel has successfully revoked the citizenship of two other Palestinian citizens but it has never done so with an elected official.
