Afghan president orders operation against Taliban

Afghanistan’s president orders the military to resume attacks against the Taliban and other armed groups.

A deal hoped to pave the way for peace in Afghanistan could be in tatters, after 34 people were killed in separate attacks on Tuesday.

The president has ordered the military to resume offensive operations against the Taliban and other armed groups.

But the Taliban denies any responsibility for the violence.
