Israel elections: Polls in rerun vote open

Benjamin Netanyahu, who promised to annex the Jordan Valley in the occupied West Bank, says leftists will ‘weaken’ Israel.

Israelis are voting in their second general election in less than six months.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is hoping for a fifth term.

He failed to achieve a majority or form a coalition in April and called an unprecedented rerun.

Netanyahu is facing corruption allegations but is doing everything in his power to win the election and avoid a criminal trial.
