COP24: Solar geoengineering may help limit global warming

Scientists suggest there is high agreement that injection of chemicals into the stratosphere could help limit global warming.

The first week of climate talks has ended in Katowice without any agreement.

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change recommended global warming be kept below 1.5 degrees Celsius.

Scientists believe solar geoengineering techniques, which could be remarkably cheap, might help tackle global warming. However, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Russia and the United States have refused to endorse its report.
