Norway hosts biggest NATO war games since end of Cold War

Today, Norway will host the start of NATO’s 2018 Trident Juncture war games. It will involve 50,000 troops from all 29 member states, plus non-members Sweden and Finland.

The biggest NATO war games since the 1980s will begin in Norway in a few hours.

Thirty-one countries are taking part in Trident Juncture 2018, the war games which will go on for several weeks.

They come at a time of increasing pressure on the Alliance.
