Israel closure of vital Gaza commercial border takes effect

Closure of primary passageway for basic goods to besieged Palestinian territory makes impact a day after decision.

Tel Aviv made the move in response to Palestinians launching incendiary kites across the border. Only humanitarian aid, medical supplies and food are being allowed in.

Hamas leaders say shutting the Karam Abu Salem crossing is a crime against the Palestinian people.
