New CIA boss Gina Haspel to face Senate grilling

The long-time CIA official has been criticised for her alleged role in the torture of suspected 'terrorists' in secretive overseas prisons.

    Before Gina Haspel is confirmed as the first woman to run the CIA, she is expected to face tough questioning on Capitol Hill.

    The spy agency veteran is US President Donald Trump's choice to replace Mike Pompeo, now US Secretary of State.

    But there are major questions about Haspel's role in the torture of prisoners.
