Kenya criticised over mall security
Security forces say the shopping centre was a known target for al-Shabab.

Although the standoff has yet to conclude between Kenyan security forces and fighters holed up inside the Westgate shopping centre in Nairobi, questions have already begun as to what officers could have done to prevent the crisis.
There has been criticism as to why the mall was not better protected, given that security forces say it was a known target for al-Shabab.
