Series of explosions hit a naval base in the island’s south, causing casualties and power outages.

The explosions were sparked by a fire and caused debris to fly over a wide area.

The concussion wave from the blasts also knocked out the Vassilikos power station, the largest on the island, which caused power outages felt all the way to the capital, Nicosia.
