Two simultaneous bombings also occurred on Wednesday in Bordi El Kiffan, an eastern suburb of Algiers.

One suicide bomber died in the incidents and six people were wounded.
The attacks targeted a seaside cafe and a barracks.
A series of similar attacks in May were claimed by al-Qaeda’s North African wing, al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb.
The blasts targeted government forces, killing six soldiers in one attack.
Opposition attacks are numerous in the Boumerdes area east of Algeria, where fighters use the remote Kabylie region as a base.
The military-backed government has been fighting Muslim fighters in a near civil war since 1992.
Battles ignited after the government cancelled a December 1991 election won by the Islamic Salvation Front (FIS). At least 150,000 people have died in the conflict.
