Stephen F Szabo: ‘Most successful economy’
Transatlantic relations expert elaborates on United States’ perception of the Germany as a transatlantic power.
Germany is by far the most successful economy right now in Europe.
Stephen F Szabo is the executive director of the Transatlantic Academy at the German Marshall Fund of the United States in Washington DC.
His areas of expertise are transatlantic relations, NATO, the European Union, German politics, and US foreign policy.
He was previously the academic and anterim dean and the professor of European studies at the Paul H Nitze School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University.
He spoke to Empire about the US’ perceptions of Germany as a transatlantic partner, and the might of the German economy in Europe.
