Disparity fuels ethnic tensions in China

Wen Jiabao, the Chinese premier, has praised his country’s economic growth but some minorities are complaining that they are not seeing the benefits.

This is fuelling ethnic tensions, already rife in Xinjiang, a growing centre of trade.
