The Perseid meteor shower
If the weather was kind, the skies produced a stunning display.

Over the past few nights there has been a spectacular display taking place in the night skies.
As long as clouds haven’t obscurred the view, it has been possible to see hundereds of shooting stars.
This brilliant spectacle has been caused by the Perseid meteor shower, which happens every year as the Earth passes through the debris left behind by the comet Swift-Tuttle.
