Palestinian hunger strikers ‘in danger’
At least six out of 2,000 hunger-striking prisoners in Israeli jails at imminent risk of dying, lawyers say.

More than 2,000 Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails are on hunger strike, protesting their indefinite detention, of which at least six are in imminent danger of dying, according to their lawyers.
In a region where violence can flare at any time, there is real fear that is exactly what could happen if a Palestinian prisoner dies.
“It will lead to an explosive reaction that every politician will be held hostage to. People will not simply sit back and watch as their brothers die,” one former prisoner told Al Jazeera.
