Citizenship cards for Nepal's 'third gender'

Decision to issue citizenship documents to transgenders lauded as victory for minorities in the country.

Nepal is joining a number of countries issuing citizenship documents with the category of "third gender".

Those are people who wish to be identified as neither male nor female.  The move has been lauded as a victory for minorites in the country.

Al Jazeera's Subina Shrestha reports from Kathmandu.
