    Hamid Karzai, Afghanistan's president, is heading to Washington in a few days, as Nato prepares for a military operation in Kandahar.

    Nato forces and the country's government have been warning of the offensive against the Taliban for months now.

    But as Hoda Abdel Hamid reports, locals are unsure it will work.
