China to fight pollution in economic overhaul

China has announced plans to increase its growth rate and raise its defence budget at the annual parliament session in Beijing. But one of the most pressing tasks facing legislators is tackling pollution.
As smog reaches dangerous levels in the capital and other cities, environmental issues are causing China’s public major concern.
The government fears any discontent that could compromise stability.
