US president Barack Obama has added his voice to calls for Egypt to release three jailed Al Jazeera staff.

Mohamed Fahmy, Baher Mohamed and Peter Greste have now spent 222 days in a Cairo prison. 

Al Jazeera continues to demand their immediate release.

Al Jazeera's Gerald Tan reports.
