US billionaire unveils high speed train idea

Elon Musk proposes system to cut travel time between Los Angeles and San Francisco by over five hours.

It takes about six hours to drive from Los Angeles to San Francisco, which is a journey of 500km.

Billionaire Elan Musk, who co-founded PayPal among other ventures, is planning to cut that journey to just 30 minutes with a train which speeds along at 1,000km per hour.

He hopes to build a working prototype of the Hyperloop within three years.
