Key Canada climate centre faces closure

Funding dries up for experimental Lakes Area research project that provides key climate change details.

    The Experimental Lakes Area provides the world with information about acid rain, industrial pollution and climate change.

    But Canada’s government says it will no longer fund the facility.

    The centre will close if others do not take over by the end of March 2013. No viable new operators have come forward.
