Threat of military action in Mali heats up

West African nations consider military options in Mali necessary to re-take the rebel-held north.

Diplomatic efforts to end the crisis in Mali seem to be going nowhere.

Rebel groups have been in control of the north of the country since March.

And now the international community is considering military action to settle the conflict.
