He is the man who many say lured the US into Iraq and he did it all on the dime of the US taxpayer.
Ahmad Chalabi was a favourite of American neo-cons and someone who reportedly used his charisma and charm to persuade many in Washington that Iraq’s Saddam Hussein was a serious threat and needed to be overthrown.

Since the fall of Baghdad just five years ago Chalabi has gone from being the deputy prime minister of Iraq, to falling out of favour and having warrants issued in Iraq for his arrest.
Now, like so many other times in his life, Ahmad Chalabi is back on top and in the centre of Iraqi power.
On Wednesday’s Riz Khan author and journalist Aram Roston joins the programme as we look at the remarkable and intriguing life of Ahmad Chalabi and the role he played in creating the Iraq war.
Roston is an Emmy award-wining investigative journalist and has just published The Man Who Pushed America to War: The Extraordinary Life, Adventures, and Obsessions of Ahmad Chalabi.
