Hundreds more Syrian refuges have crossed over to Turkey, with Syrian military vehicles sweeping through border villages in plain sight.

The Turkish Red Crescent said 600 refugees crossed over from the Syrian side on Thursday to escape the latest assault by government forces trying to quell the uprising against President Bashar al-Assad's rule.

Al Jazeera's Anita McNaught reports from Guvecci in Turkey on the widening humanitarian crisis arising from the political unrest in Syria.
