Somali MP killed by car bomb
Blast at the entrance to heavily-fortified compound of the presidential palace has killed MP Warsame Faysal.

A Somali legislator has been killed in the capital, Mogadishu, when a bomb planted under his car exploded at the entrance to the heavily-fortified compound of the presidential palace, a senior police official said.
Warsame Faysal was killed on Friday, police said.
“He went to pray in a mosque inside the presidential palace. When he came back to drive the car, it exploded,” Abdikadir Hussein, a senior police officer based at a checkpoint at the palace’s entrance, said.
Other police officers confirmed Faysal’s death.
