Syrian National Coalition: Ghouta being ‘exterminated’

With humanitarian conditions spiralling out of control, the UN and the Syrian opposition are increasingly alarmed at the situation in Eastern Ghouta under Syrian government and Russian bombardment.

More than 70 people have been killed in the Syrian rebel-held enclave of Eastern Ghouta, on the outskirts of Damascus.

This is some of the heaviest fighting the area has seen in years as the Syrian government and Russian forces continue their intensive bombardment.

It brings the total number of people killed since Sunday to 180.
